A centre for cultural exchange
If you want to understand a country — get to know its culture.
HELSE is a cultural-exchange organisation dedicated to promoting different art forms — music, theatre, film, literature — and to discovering new talent, producing original work and staging cultural events.
A centre for cultural exchange
If you want to understand a country — get to know its culture.
HELSE was founded in 2003 to connect and present artists from Switzerland and Serbia — hence the name HELSE (HELvetia and SErbia).
As the organisation grew, so did the demand for high-quality cultural programming. Today HELSE collaborates with a wide range of artists — from the countries of the former Yugoslavia and from creators around the world.
Over the past decade HELSE has become one of the leading distributors of films from Serbia and the wider region. HELSE Distribution has so far delivered theatrical screenings in 13 European countries, with ongoing partnerships across major cinema chains — PATHÉ, ODEON, CINEPLEXX, UCI, ARENA, CINEMAXX, KITAG — and many independent cinemas.
For enquiries about distributing theatre or film programmes in your city, contact us at info@helse.ch.

Our plan and mission is to keep expanding the programme year after year — in volume and in the range of art forms. The projects we have worked on and want to focus on going forward include:
- Films and film festivals
- Theatre and stage productions
- Concerts by major bands and solo musicians
- Stand-up comedy and one-person shows
- Book launches and author talks
- Cultural workshops for children
Our team
We have come together to bring outstanding artists, actors and performers so that we can all share in these cultural events and moments.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
HELSE is a Swiss cultural association that fosters exchange between Switzerland and Serbia. Through theatre, film, music, stand-up and children's workshops we build cultural bridges — alive, inspiring and open to everyone.
Our programme is diverse: theatre performances, film screenings, stand-up comedy, concerts, readings, seminars and children's workshops.
Events run year-round — the current schedule lives in the Events section.
Tickets are sold online via each event's page and, for some programmes, at the door before the show. HELSE members receive discounts on selected events.
Membership is open to anyone who wants to support the association. The annual fee is CHF 70, with reduced rates for students and pensioners.
Sign up via the Membership page — for any additional questions, write to info@helse.ch.
Our address is Zurichstrasse 167, 8057 Zürich. The venue is well connected by public transport; specific event locations are always listed with the schedule.
