The Date

An original monodrama by Sandra Silađev

Sandra Silađev original monodrama about a single middle-aged mother, Olivera, waiting for a date who never arrives.

Saturday, June 4, 2022 · 08:00 PM – 09:30 PM
Volkshaus Zürich, Zürich

About the show

The monodrama follows middle-aged single mother Olivera Živković, waiting for an online-arranged date that will never show up. Through a bitterly funny, provocative and honest monologue, Olivera opens themes of motherhood, women in contemporary society, marriage, accessibility for people with disabilities, the safety of teenagers, and visible and invisible domestic labour. Vulgarity and sharp rhetoric are not ends in themselves — they work as tools that expose the double standards society imposes primarily on women.
