About the show
„Ljudi odozgo“, a play by Cesc Gay, is something of a phenomenon of Spanish theatre. The arrival of the neighbours — those people upstairs — for a shared dinner, and their unusual proposal to their hosts, opens up a whole series of witty situations, (un)comfortable truths and great questions of life. How to find humour in those uncomfortable truths, how to use humour to hide loneliness, fears and insecurities, while at the same time focusing on the important themes of our time — the emotional distance between partners, the midlife crisis, routine — is probably the key with which this play has opened its way to different audiences, with a good measure of the auteur and the commercial, the witty and the sincere, the entertaining and the engaged. Performed by two superb duos — Sergej Trifunović and Aleksandra Tomić, Aleksej Bjelogrlić and Iva Ilinčić — the play sets two worldviews against each other, two logics of life and partnership. Come and let us weigh together how to find our way through it all, and perhaps be a little happier.
